    Tweive-piece Orchestra Furnishes Music
The Caterpillar, a new thrill
producing device, is being intro
duced in the west for the first
time at Krug park, where it has
been given a place among the es
tablished attractions.
This latest novelty consists of a
light circular track on which a
continuous series of 24 seats re
volve about a center shaft. The
track has a number of small undu
lations or dips and after the ma
chine has made one or two revo
lutions a movable canopy or tun
nel momentarily covers the seats,
causing it to look like a great
- ,
groin caterpillar crawling around
the track. —
Just as the trick covering sub
merges the occupants, two big
blowers beneath the track are
thrown into operation, which in- |
troduces another element of sur- <
prise to the riders. *
Gay Colored New
Suits Furnished
A colorful aspect will be given
the pool this season as the park
has stocked its suit department
with thousands of beautiful all
wool bathing suits of various col
ors and designs.
An inferior grade bathing suit
is provided at the majority of pub
lic pools, but the park management
is going to furnish its patrons with
■ , as classy and expensive suits as
they would purchase for them
selves.
Boat Ride Always
Standard Attraction
The boat ride is always one of
•he most popular of what are
known among amusement peo
ple as the standard attractions at
a park. Called by various names
throughout the United States, such
as “Swanee River,” ‘‘The Old
Mill,” and similar titles, the “boat
ride” through a constructed cav
ern is one of the pleasures of an
amusement park that is good for
a steady business throughout sea
eon after season.
Krug Park has a boat ride,
"Swanee River,” that is one of
the best in the country. Won
derfully decorated caverns greet
the eye of the passenger as the
boat propelled by a stream of run
ning water from the giant paddle
wheel, wends its wav from a dark
stretch into an opening with con
structed scenery such as one
might see in a real trip down a
real river.
Strange and fantastic fish and
sea monsters cause shrieks fol
lowed by laughter, a sudden
plunge into utter darkness fol
lowed by a quick turn into the
light makes the ride a novelty
each time.
Park Management Maintains
Lost and Found Department
Throughout a season many ar
ticles are lost on the grounds.
Persons who lose articles of
jewelry, gloves, pocketbooks and
trinkets would do well to report
the loss to any attendant on the
grounds.
Many valuable articles have
been returned to the owners
through this department.
Patrons should leave their name
and address at the office when
they turn in articles found on the
park grounds.
Krug Park Briefs.
A landscape gardener beauti
* fies Krug Park each spring. He
is hired by the season to care for
the flowers, shrubbery and plants,
and their neat appearance testifies
to the amount of work expended
on them each year.
The parking of thousands of
autos of visitors at the park each
season calls for the services of
Several expert traffic regulators.
Free Sea Swing
Being Operated
The sea swing which was estab
lished in the pool several seasons
ago, but which was not in use last
season, has been put in shipshape
and is being operated continuously
this season.
The sea swing or water carousal
works on the same principle as the
merry-go-round. When it is re
volving at full speed, the bathers,
swinging on ropes, are alternate
ly flying through the air and skim
ming on the surface of the water.
It is very thrilling and affords the
greatest enjoyment to bathers.
Water Slide Is
30 Feet High "
A water toboggan or slide tow
ering 30 feet in the air is the new
est device installed to furnish
thrills and fun for its patrons.
This huge slide was made in the
east and was erected the week
prior to the opening of the pool.
Krug Park pool has more de
vices for entertaining bathers than
any other pool, which is partly
responsible for the fact that its
patronage is so large.
The lights on the giant dipper
nnd on the aeroplane ride can be
seen at a distance of 15 miles.
