Swimming Pool Attracts Thousands; Artificial Waves Delight Bathers Swimming—the ideal cummer ■port—attracts many thousands of people to Krug Park each year. Constructed according to the latest designs in pool engineering, the. Krug Park pool was declared at the time of its construction to be the most modern and the finest appointed concrete pqol in the United States. Complete in every detail, the pool itself is as large is a small lake with a shelving beach of real sand that extends down into the water itself. Particular attention was given to the matter of the purity of the water. Exhaustive tests of meth ods of purifying large quantities of water were made and an im mense plant, capable of turning hundreds of thousands of gallons of water, as pure as chemists, elec tricians, aerating experts and sanitation engineers could devise, was installed and to date it has never failed a single day. ftTAfA# ASA# A# ft# ftfft# A# AfAfA At the west end of the pool a beautiful cascade of fresh water pours into the pool continuously. Suction pipes draw off the older water from the center of the pool and send it back through the plant to be remade again. A wave machine, powerful enough to create rollers that wash the far beaches is situated on the bathhouse side. Contrary to the public's be- ' lief that the cascades at Krug Park pool were installed to add an artistic touch to the pool, the ; actual purpose of these cascades ; is to expose the water to the sunlight. The cascade pump circulates over the steps of the cascade 120, 000 gallons of water each hour, or the entire capacity of the pool in less than eight hours. Aside ] from the fact that the water is freshened by being aerated and sun-rayed, the cascade adds a pic turesque touch to the pool. Amusement parks have almost driven the traveling carnival out of business, as far as good sized ( towns are concerned. \ Something New in Benson || j “Just a ‘Whisper’ West of Krug Park” i!
