Coffroth Handicap to Be Run Sunday — --—. ® Tiajuana Classic to Attract Great Throng of Fans Event Considered Greatest Amusement Enterprise on West Coast—Most of V is itors to Arrive Today. Tijuana Racetrack, Mex., March 28. —When special and regular trains, steamships, auto stages and private motor cars bring thousands to this section for the running of the Cof froth Handicap, Sunday, March 30, San Diego, which will be the head quarters for race fans, will he enter taining more visitors than at any time in its history. The Coffroth handicap at 1 1-4 miles Is such a rich race and has been so extensively advertised, that the event in which $52,350 will he dis tributed, will draw patronage from far and near. Most of the visitors will arrive Saturday, March 20. In order that all coming for the h'g period of the thoroughbred sport will be able to find ample hotel ac commodations. President James Cof froth of the Tijuana Jockey club has solicited the aid of the San Dicgo California club in the matter of hous ing visitors. The latter organization has had previous experience in this work and several days before the Cof froth handicap will compile a list of al< accommodations in San Diego. The club's hotel bureau will be opened the nights of March 28, 27, 28 and 2!). The bureau is centrally lo cated in the Chamber of Commerce building at Second and Broadway and by it visitors will he directed to ac commodations. This bureau will have a complete list of all available sleep ing accommodations in hotels, apart ment houses and even in private homes. It will also have information concerning garages and a lot of other data which the visitor may desire. San Diego realizea that the Cof froth handicap is the greatest amusement enterprise in the west. The city knows that thousands of visitors will come through its gates snd It is determined that all shall he well cared for during their stay. All restaurants of the city have promised to co-operate in giving the crowd a good service. Their larders will he well packed and extra help will be employed. ONSTIPATION A cause of many Ills. Liverpool; March 2X.—Master Rob ert, by Mooralde II, out of Dodds, owned by Lord Alrlle, won the grand national steple chase of £5,000, with extras, here today. T. Laidlaw's Flymask, by Fly Fisher, dam Bergo Mask, was sec ond, and W. H. Midwood'a Silvo, by Minter, out of Ever True, was third. Drifter was fourth and Sargeant Mur phy fifth. Thirty horses ran. The betting was: Master Robert, 25 to 1 against; Flymask, 100 to 7 against; Silvo, 100 to 7 against. Master Robert won by four lengths from Flymask. which was three lengths ahead of Silvo. Eight horses finished out of SO starters. A crowd estimated by some at ■ quarter of a million watched the gruelling four and one-half-mile race. Table Rock, Neb., March 28.—Seven sections i'll the vicinity of Seneca. Kan., have been placed In quaran tine following the discovery of several cases of hydrophobia. Mayor Shaul of Seneca has issued a proclamation ordering that all dogs in Seneca be muzzled or confined for 60 days. One dog In the quarantine district is known to have had rabies. Three brood sows have died from the dis ease and a cow Is believed to be in fected. Salvation Army to Solicit Building Fund at Kearney Kearney. Neb., March 28.—Salva tion Army plans to make a campaign for raising funds to carry on the work and to establish the nucleus of a $10,000 building fund.
