Driver Saves Girl, 19, From Auto Wheels Picks I p Candy Store Girl With One Arm as Taxi Passes Her. W. O. Bucher, taxi driver, living at 1411 Garfield street, found himself in jail Wednesday rooming, after an act of heroism In attempting to save a girl's life. The girl wag May Moirally, 19, 139 North Thirty-first avenue, clerk in a candy store at Sixteenth and Nicholas streets. She ran across the street In front of a street car at Sixteenth and Web ster streets this morning, only to find herself directly In the path of Buch er’s taxi, which was running beside the car. Bucher swerved his machine to one side to avoid hitting the girl, and picked her up with one arm as he passed to prevent her from falling under the wheels of the street cat;, meanwhile attempting to stop his cab. He was unable to hold the girl un-f til the cab came to a stop. When he lo,t his grip, she dropped to the pav ing, suffering an injury to her right shoulder. She was taken to Paxton Memorial hospital. Bucher was arrested on a charge of reckless driving. German Revolt Aimed at Treaty Defendant in Ludendorff Trial Reveals Plan to Abol ish Versailles Pact. By International Newt SerTlre. Munich, Feb. 27.—Dr. Friedrich Weber, one of the defendants In the Ludendorff-Hitler high treason trial, and leader of the •‘Oberland’’ Free Corps in the fascist “army" revealed today that the nationalists aimed first to abolish the Versailles treaty, ami second, to establish a nationalist gov ernment, if the “beer cellar revolt” of last November had been successful. Hitler was still upon the witness stand when the trial was continued this morning. “Did you aspire to the highest posi tion in the reich (German state)?" asked the prosecutor. Hitler smiled: “I Just started the revolution." “There Is nothin* to smile about,” rsbuked the prosecutor. Ludendorff looked on, hl4 heavy fsce Impassive. Hitler denied any Intention of run ning a “competin* dictatorship." Dr. Von Kahr, former dictator of Bavaria, and the man who wrecked the revolt before it was 12 hours old, Is sick, and may not testify. Court Confirms Potash Sentence McWhorter, Wohlberg, Mas sey and Chipley Held Guilty of Conspiracy. Two year sentence. Imposed In fed eral court June 29, 1922, against Wil liam A. McWhorter, Charles S. Wohl herg, Jacob Massey and William G. Chipley was affirmed by the circuit oourt of appeals, according to a letter received Wednesday by United States District Attorney J. C. Klnsler. The men were charged with con spiracy by using the mails to de fraud. They were also fined $10,000 each. Sold Potasli Stock. The men organized and sold stork of the Berg Potash company, with subsequent loss to purchasers. According to the order of the cir cuit court, the men must surrender to United States Marshal Cronin with in 90 days. Si*ty days will elapse before official notice is received here, end then another 30 is given the men to appear and serve their sentence. Time for Appeal. The first 60 days Is showed to give attorneys for the men time to file ap peal to the United States supreme court. They are at liberty on $12,000 bond. Adam Huller Dies. Adam Huller, 78, resident of Omaha for 3# years, died Wednesday at the home of his son, Michael Huller, 2313 South Twelfth atreet. He waa born In Germany. He Is survived by two sons, Michael and Adolph Huller. Funeral services will be held Fri day morning at 8:30 at the home of Michael Huller, and at St. Joseph church at 9. f REEL REMARKS-' s By the M. Veteran Mason Dies in New York John Bamford, 75, retired employe of the United Pacific and one of the oldest Masons of Omaha, died Monday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. H. Green, Poughkeepsie, N. Y. His body will be returned to Oma ha Friday morning. Mr. Bramford also Is survived by another daughter, Mrs. L. J. Amendment to the pcstoffice ap propriation hill which, if passed, will keep air mail planes moving through Omaha for another year, was made by the senate appropriations commit tee Tuesday in reporting the hill to the senate, according to information re ceived from 'Washington. The amendment is in the form of an appropriation of $1,500,000 for con tinuance of the transcontinental aii' plane mall service. The provision originally was in Who’s Guilty?
