Clothes, Food and Shelter Are Being Furnished _____i___y « ___i_ *" • The Work Must Be Carried On » * j • Any Worthy Ex-Service Man May Receive Aid The hungry must be fed; those who need it must be clothed; the families of our unfortunate buddies must be housed.’ Our buddies, who through the tragedy of after-war are less fortu nate than we are must be furnished aid. There is no argument on this point. The American Legion has taken on its shoulders this great responsibility, and rightly so. We must “Help Carry a Buddy’s Pack” if the pack is too heavy for him to carry alone. It’s our duty tried and bound under the glare of the bursting bombs and amidst the screaming shrapnel. It is a brotherhood obligation founded in dugouts and water-filled trenches; a fidelity sealed by the last word of the dying. The work of Douglas County Post No. 1 of the American Legion during the years since the war shows conclusively that the American Le gion has accepted the responsibility. We urge every Legionaire to pay up his dues and every service man who does not belong, and has that honored privilege, to use it.
