    Omaha Hen Leads
Nation in Race
C-676, a White Leghorn hen owned
by John Welch, Omaha restaurant
man. Is still leading the hens of the
nation In the national egg-laying con
test under auspices of the department
of poultry husbandry of the state uni
versity at Lincoln.
Since November 1, 1922, when the
contest started, she has laid 251 eggs,
and she Is going strong, leading her
nearest compstltor, a Barred Plym
outh Rock from Oregon, by three
eggs.
In the month of September C-576
produced 23 fine, large eggs.
The contest closes October 31, and
Mr. Welch is rooting for his noble
bird and hoping she doesn't start to
moult or have a sick spell in ti.'

Wilson's League Views

Princeton, N, J., Oct. 22.—Wood
row Wilson’s arguments for the
league of nations, as explained by
him in public addresses and in White
House conferences, have been com
piled and set down in compact form
by Hamilton Foley in a book which
will be issued by Princeton univer
sity tomorrow. The work has been
approved by the former president
who in a letter to Mr. Foley gives It
his endorsement with the hope that
it will be of service to all who wish
to understand the league of nations
and the vital issues which arise out
of the attitude of the United States
toward the league.
“Woodrow Wilson's Case for the
League of Nations” is the title of the
book. 4
