TO COST $15,000
k Historical Floats Have Been
^ Assigned to Various
Organizations.
A total of $15,0000 Is being spent by
the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben for cos
tumes of the var’-us historical periods
shown In the pageant, "Patriotic His
toric America," to be presented Oc
tober 3. Each company presenting a
float signed a contract to be respon
sible for $500 for the building of the
float, but the actors will be costumed
at the expense of King Ak.
Sketches of the floats are being re
ceived dally at the office of John Lee
Webster, and the following assign
ments are announced today:
The Declaration of Independence,
«hlcli shows Thomas\Jefferson pre
setting the document to John Han
cock, in presence of John. Adams,
Ben Franklin, Roger Sherman and
other members of the committee which
drew up the document, will be taken ;
by the Chamber of Commerce.
Lincoln signing the emancipation
proclamation has been assigned to the
Rotary club.
The Lewis and Clark expedition will
be presentedi by the Omaha drain
exchange.
Coolldge taking the oath as presi
dent, together with a memorial to
President Harding, has been assigned j
to the Union stockyards.
Assignment of floats showing Per
thing placing a wreath on the tomb
of Lafayette, and Dewey’s battleship
at Manila, was made Saturday to
Burgess-Nash company and the Chi
cago. Milwaukee A St. Paul railroad
respectively.

Ivor Novello. well known actor of
the British stage, Is D. W. Griffith's
new leading man In '"The White
Hose," which will open the new Bun
theater policy of big pictures only,
on next Sunday. The story Is of the
Bayou Teche country of Louisiana,
