'-^tefug<‘e9 from Lowlands Near
Juarez Seek Shelter in
School Buildings.
Ill Paso, Tex., Aug. 27.—With two
rises in the Rio Grande due late to
day, forecast by the United States
reclamation st^VIce, several hundred
more persons today were fleeing from
their homes near the lowlands of
Juarez, where 1,200 were driven out
Friday night.
The refugees are housed temporar
Uy in two school buildings, where
bread lines and soup kitchens have
1 cen established by the Mexican Blue
I .'OSS.
Higher water will force them from
lliese two buildings, which already
are almost surrounded by water and!
n fuse. They probably will be taken
to the stables and to the old saloon
and betting quarters of the Juarez
race track, four miles from town.
Amelio Aguilar, 45, was electro
cuted last night when he xvent to
turn on a light In his flooded house.
His death brought the total of deaths
due to the flood to three. A score
were hurt by the rushing waters and
when their houses tumbled in. It is
estimated that nearly 1,000 small
•Mexican houses were damaged by the
Hood. Many of them caved entire
ly in, being made of ndobe. while
roofs and walls of others crumbled.
Water two feet deep is standing in
hundreds of houses.
A heavy rain last night added to
the mlsenjr.

Quinn Discovered in
Bath Tuh.
Lincoln. Neb., Aug. 27.—The nude
and bloodstained body of Mrs. Clara
Quinn, 32, of this city was found in a

by the authorities pending a detailed
, nvestigation into the case. The hus
band said lie left his wife alive and
well Sunday evening.
An inquest will be held either this
ifiernoon or tomorrow morning.
