Will Be Held at
Gifford Today
Honors Will Be Given Boy
Scouts at Third Session
—George Peters Is
in Charge.
The third session of the Court of
Honor at Camp Gifford will be held
at 1:30 today. All scouts now In
camp for the third period, and all vis
itors and scout officials will assemble
at the council ring immediately after
dinner. Scoutmaster George Peters
of troop 11 will be chairman of the
court.

Legion Picnic and
Baby Show on July 27
Nurses, members of the Douglas
county post, American Legion, will
have charge of the baby show to be
held jn connection with the Douglas
county Legionnaires’ picnic for ser
vice men at Krug park Friday, July
27.
Babies of ex-service men will com
pete in the show to determine which
are the best babies in three groups,
divided according to age as follows:
Six months to 12 months, 12 months
to 18 months and 18 months to two
years.
All entrants will be required to sub
'*• mit tc physical examination by Oma
ha physicians, who will score the
contest along scientific lines laid
down by government experts.
Parents who desire to enter their
children in the baby show are notified
to register at the Krug park ball
room at 2 p. m.. July 27, examina
tions to start at 2:30 p. m.
Miss Elizabeth Bradford, president
of the nurses’ division of the legion,
is in charge of the baby show, and
will select a committee of nurses to
assist her.
The picnic and baby show are free
to all service men who can show cer
tificate of discharge or membership
card in the legion.
Motorists Creepy
as 2 Women Race Cars
Motorists enjoying the air along the
West Center street road underwent
a rather creepy thrill Friday night
when two blg-six-cylinder automobiles,
each driven by a woman, staged a
race on the paved highway into Mil
lard.
One car, a closed car, contained
two men and two women. The other,
a touring car, carried a woman and
man.
The women raced along the road
Into Millard at a 50-mlle clip, ap
parently to see which car would reach
a chicken-dinner roadhouse first.
Elks Picnic at Krug
Park Tuesday Night
Omaha Elks will hold an evening
picnic, Tuesday, July 17, at Krug
park.
The Elk picnlo committee will have
special events to entertain the Elks
and their children.
Tickets for the midsummer out
ing were purchased last week by the
entertainment committee from Krug
park and are available at the club
rooms.
Zionist Delegates Will
Report on Baltimore Meet
A special meeting of the Omaha
district of the Zionist Organization of
America will be held Tuesday eve
ning at R in the community center,

Delegates who attended the oonven
f tlon recently held in Baltimore will
report on the meet. J. J. Friedman
and M. Kulakofsky are the delegates
who will report.
Tech High School Band Will
Give Concert in Gifford Park
Technical High school band will

is under the Tenth Ward Improve
ment club.

was slightly cut and bruised last
night when she was run down by a
