but Good, Says Report

Lincoln. July 2.—Nebraska's corn
crop in general is a little late, but
otherwise very salisfactory, according
to the monthly report of A. K. Ander
son, agricultural statistician of the
bureau of agricultural economics,
United States Department of Agricul
ture.
Most of the corn crop has been cul
tivated* once and some of it twice,
the report said, adding that a consid
erable portion of the crop was plant
ed after June 1 and some after June
15, and most of the fields are in fine
shape at this time.
"The stand of corn Is really better
than expected under the adverse
planting conditions,” the report said,
"The acreage Is large, especially in
southwestern Nebraska, and with the
reserve supply of subsoil moisture
this section should raise a large crop
this year.”
Many Visit Storm Area.
AVymore. Neb., July 2.—Hundreds
of autoload* of people vielled the
storm-strlekon area east of Wymore
and extending southeast to the
Kansas line. The damage to crops
was complete and it Is said that the
$100,000 loss first reported will not
rover it all.
