Noticing your offer in the Sunday Bee of a Westinghouse electric fan to the lady writing
the best 250-word story on "The Advantages and Pleasures of the Use of Electrical Appliances
in Your Home,” I thought I would let you know how well equipped Pam and how much
I enjoy it.
I do my washing and wringing every two weeks for a family of four with a Horton
electric washer in about four hours. Then the two following mornings iron with an electric
iron six hours in all.
The “Hoover Special” vacuum sweeper 1 use every Thursday and Friday morning and
speedily clean the entire house, consisting of seven rooms.
Every morning the electric toaster is used and I also have a small electric stove which I find
very convenient. Light up the house every evening with Mazda lamps, do all soldering
with an electric soldering iron and also operate our Reinartz loud speaker radio set by charg
ing the batteries every day—all at a total cost of $3.50 per month. Surely a cheap servant.
In addition to the above, my husband runs his entire mill and elevator by an electric
motor and am seriously thinking of putting in a motor for the boys to run a cider press.
Can you beat it?
