nnd Mason C'lty, Is., are spending two
days in Omaha and Council Bluffs In
the interests of the summer season
at their lake resort. These men ar
rived in a McKeen motor car which
moved over the rails of the Chicago
& Great Western road from Mason
City to Omaha. In charge of the par
ty is C. V. Crane, publicity chairman
of the Clear Lake Chamber of Com
merce.
The visitors attended luncheon yes
terday noon at the Omaha Chamber
of Commerce, and during the after
noon they visited points In Omaha
and Council Bluffs distributing their
literature, which they also distributed
at the stations along tha way from
Mason City.
The Great Western announces the
lowest summer fare between Omaha
and Clenr Luke than has been author
ized since before the war. Through
sleeping car service will be started
over file Great Western on June 22.
On June 17, members of the Omaha
Railway Men's assoftation and em
ployes of this division of the Great
Western railway will hold their an
nual pienic at Clear Lake. It is ex
pected that 1,500 will attend tilts out
ing.
The business men of Mason City
and of Clear I^ike are cooperating
with the Great Western in promoting
this summer resort a» the most, con
venient for people living in Omaha
and Council Bluffs. Marshall B. Craig
of the Croat Western says the sum
mer service will be the best that has
ever been offered and he expects that
this season will break all records at
Clear Lake.
Six Soldiers Assigned to
Run Down Bootleggers
Six soldiers from Fort Omaha, five
of them sergeants, are acting tinder
Prohibition Agent Bob Samardick as
boose sleuths.
The deputizing of tile lyen came In

manding officer at the fort.
Obtaining of evidence by soldiers,
Samardick said, eliminates the stigma
of “stool pigeon’' which lias hindered
