Detectives raided the home of Emil
5\ avernlc, 2620 K street, Sunday, and
arrested him on a charge of conduct
ing a disorderly house. Ho was fined
$50 by Judge Wappich.
Six men. arrested as Inmates, were
fined »5 each. They are: Jack Griffin,
4722 South Twentieth street; Her
man Itlnkus and Louis Weber, 4032
South Twenty-fifth street; P. J.
White and R. M. Grady, 4511 South
Twenty-sixth street, and James Me
Grath, 2518 M 6treet.
Wade Hampton, Twenty-fourth and
Washington streetB, and John Sar
gent, Twenty-fourth and V streets,
were fined $10 each on charges of be
ing drunk and disturbing the peace
at Thirty-third and Q streets.
Claude Agee, 3122 A street, arrest
ed on complaint of his mother, who
alleges he threatened to kill her, was
fined $10 for disturbance.
Ed Melvin. 4611 North Twenty-sec
ond street, was fined $10 and J. S.
O’Donald, 2011 Arbor street, sentenced
to 10 days In jail on charges of be
ing drunk and disturbing the peace.
William Karnes, 406 North Six
teenth street, was fined $25 on charg
eg of carrying concealed weapons,
being drunir and creating a disturb
ance. His revolver was confiscated.
Student Is Hurt in Fall
from Walking Club Swing
While swinging In a rope swing at
the Omaha Walking club headquar
ters In Sarpy county Sunday after
noon, Elmo Adatns, student, fell out,
suffering a broken right wrist,
J sprained left wrist and bruised left
I leg, according to South Omaha police,
who W’ere called by his brother, Waldo
Adams. The injuries were dressed
by police surgeons and the student
was taken to his home at 1548 South
Twenty-seventh street.
Fireman Overcome at Fire
Is Rescued by Captain
Frank Smith, driver of fire truck
l No. 6, was overcome by smoke while
' fighting a fire in the coal shed of
Mrs. William Uvlck, 5306 South Thir
ty second street, yesterday morning,
lie was rescused by Mike Herman, cap
tain of hose company No. 21, who was
almost overcome In making the res
cue, The fire damage to the building
was slight.
Man Denies Theft; Fined.
Clyde Leonard, 4317 South Twenty
seventh street, was fined $10 In South
Omaha court Monday on a charge of
. assault and battery on Ruby White,
same address, who told police when
she had him arrested Sunday night
that ho had taken $15 from her. lie
denied this.
Mai» Is Strongarmed.
While standing in front of his
looming house at Twenty-fifth and O
streets at 12:30 Monday morning,
Jesse Lazlour was strongarmed and
robbed of $15, he reported to South
Omaha police.
