of the Drama league. She will give
dramatic recital of a, great Creek
play, probably on of Euriplde
(Medea), using the most poetic of the
English translation, that of Gilbert
Murray.
The Greek drama are very like
those of tihakespcare in the appeal
they make to all claase of people.
Their play were given out of door
In . very extensive amphitheater.
Many of the college have reproduced
thee Greek open-air theater. '
The Medea was produced in 431 B.
C. In the prologue the audience Is
apprised of the event that have gone
before. There was the quest of the
Golden Fleece; the return to Iolchus;
the murder of Telia; the resulting
nlgnt or menca, me ioreign wue, anu j
Jason to Corinth; later the Infatuation
of Jason for the Princes Creflsa and
hi consequent desertion of Medea.
Medea wa madly Jealous and sent
her children with a poisoned ' robe,
prepared by her own eorce.ry, to the
princes, who die. Then as a last
revenge after a mighty struggle with
herself she nerve herself to slay her
children. Of course thla act of In
fanticide would bring the wrath of
the Fates, but King Acgeus promtPes
to give her a haven In hi land. The
rod anneur (ex mnehlna) to enrry her
away with the bodlea of the two chil
