Six mirnly route (torn faced Starter
Mcnkiuht's AcUbiiiK. There they
vrre delayed for six minutea and
then hroke to an excellent mart.
Catherine Marroue wa a hot liiiiiK
diwn in the ring and U'lickly lusti
tied the aupport he received by
taking the lead on the firt turn,
t'offield pushing hi way through to
Krond position, while Woodie Mont
gomery, on the ouUidf of honei,
ruthed up into the third hole. I'p
the haektrelrh they thundered
Catherine increasing hed advantage
to three length with Coflield run
ning fttrongly in arrond position,
Catherine reeled off the first three
ntiartem in 1:12 2-5 which i Se-v
York time hut later nhowed the
c fleet of thi terrific pace. Rounding
for home, Cof field began to dote
in on her. t Jockey Slaughter went
tc the whip to have the day which
he did. Coffield was hemmed in on
the rail while making hi Mrrtch run,
and tliii misfortune proved his final
undoing, Catherine sticking it out
ti win hy the narrow margin of a
neck. Woodie Montgomery wa a
length and a half hack of Coffield
with the others trailing far away.
Bred in England.
Catherine Marrone wan bred in
Fngland and is by Glcncairn out of
Tiara. She wa brought to this coun
try as a yearling and demonstrated
muhc class on the metropolitan turf
this summer winning one high class
six furlong sprint at the expense of
gfod horses. She is en route to
'ijuana at present and stopping over
here with the other Tryon horses,
hoping to pick up a few purses. This
v.ts Catherine's second victory of the
meeting. She won over horses of her
own age the other day and raced so
well that she was installed into
favoritism yesterday.
Money's triumph was just like pick
ing up sticks for the old boy. ( His
nose showed first at the start and
with little difficulty he lengthened
his lead as he went, finishing three
lengths in front of Carl Roberts,
. which was doing his best to retain
the place from Kirsties Cub. The
latter ran a good race, coming again
right at the end after Bill Blackwell
decided he hd had enough nd dropped
from the front end of the parade.
I he 2-year-old dash, the opener,
provided a surprise for the wise boys.
Big hunks of kale were invested on
Paisley a stablcmate of Catherine
Marrone. Paisley had good inten
tions, but when he reached the head
of the stretch, ran out of breath. So
Carlos Enrique kept right on with his
knitting and seeing Paisley give up,
Jockey Singleton hammered Carlos
onward to trim the fast-closing De
lante. This bird was closing rejo
lutely and meant business. Only
clever riding o nthe part of Single
ton made Carlos take it. Carlos and
Money made it a double for the Frank
Irwin stable. This outfit is the bgi
gest money winner of the meeting
at this writing.

What makes cigarette
quality anyhow?
Chiefly it's a matter of
tobacco quality the kinds
and grades of tobaccos used.
The extra enjoyment you
get from Chesterfields is
due to just that thing finer
tobaccos of better grade than
in any other cigarette at the
price.
The good taste of your first
Chesterfield will vxow it.
