'J he brrak alo went against Foye, On the 14th, Foye sliced his drive and the pellet just carried over the track, landing in the rouwh. His braxiie uliot en route to So. 2, nearly went out of bound, the ball finding a resting place in the tall grass near the edge of the road. Again on No. 7 "Cap" bumped into more tough luck, when his driv went into the rough and his second shot hit a tree, returning to the place from where it wa played. It wa play like this coupled with tough luck that spelled defeat for the veteran tour nament golfer. Reynold excelled in drying, his tee-shot being one of the features of his game. On No. 11, Sam's drive carried a far, if not farther, than (ieorge Duncan's, the famous long rViving Knglish golrrf, who gave the native a glimpse of his game bcrt last July. Reynold Drives Straight. The Field club entry had to re-i-jver his .hall from the rouuh on very few occasions, his drives gener ally carrying straight down the fair way. Then aga:n, Sam putted like a champion. On No. 6, both made the green in two. Reynolds was about 20 feet from the cup and with the accuracy of an Abe Mitchell, ran his putt for a birdie three. Again in the afternoon he holed a long putt on this same green for a birdie three. Foye took four. On No. 16, Rey nolds ran a 10-foot putt for a birdie three. I lis drive for this hole landed to the rinht of the bunker and his approach stopped within the hole. Reynolds' drive for No. 7 in the afternoon carried a little to the left dill I IMU'll ini i iru A II 1 1 il' iu 1 1 ic it il down the fairwav. On his second shot the ball stopped at the edge of the trap. His third was four feet past the cup. Fove's second was to the left of the bunker and when he caught a glimpse of Sam's lie. conceded his opponent the hole and with it went the match. Out Under Par. Reynolds finished the outside in the morning in .54. two under par. He scored three birdier. on the out side Foye hot the out in 41, mak ing fur holes in par fig'.ire.
