Koy wu thumped for II hits, among which wai a homer, triple and a pair of doublet, Allen had the control, walking only one Bitlfalo. He struck out one, while Hyman whiffed an even hall dozen. Grantham parked the pellet out of the lot lor a homer in the third in ning and the Buffaloes took a three' run advantage over the Indians, only to have the southerners ease over a run in the fourth on an error and three banes on ball. Roy Allen got Oklahoma City's first single of the game and the only thing that looked like a hit in the fifth inning. A base on balls boosted him to serond and a sacrifice placed the Redskin hurler on third, where he scored on an inheia out, It was the final Indian score. The Buffaloes had a good inning in the sixth. One might say it was Very good. In this stanza three members of the herd scored. Each Buffalo got a chance to face Allen in this mninir. Bates started the round by landing on first when Mc- Daniel dropped Tate's throw to the intitial sack. Grantham singled to renter and Bates went to third, scor ing a minute later when Griffin sin gled to left, Manush parked the apple out in center and Grantham tallied. Apperson pulled the unex pected and singled, Griffin scoring the sixth and final Omaha run of the afternoon. Wilcox then sacrificed and Ma nush and Apperson went to third and second, respectively, and were getting ready to score when Spencer came to bat. The Indian hurler rased Spencer four balls and filled the sacks with only one out, but Hyman sent a high fly to the short stop and Gislason retired the side when he grounded to McDaniel. While the match in which the old liniirt, Dwight V. Davit and Iiol. combe Ward, rhampiont of nearly a fiiarlrr of a Ctitury ago, tippoied Ihe playing through champions, W. T. Tilden II and Vincent Kichard, drew a goodly g tilery, the cron turned quickly away when the latter won, 6-0, fi-J, 6-1, to see the fight for turvivaf of the Kintry brothrrt, Kobert and Howard, i'acilk coart cliampiont, . The Kinteyt, tenf finalitt le-t year, were forced five sets by the I nfd-hitting combinaiiiiii of Willis 1-. Davis of San Francisco and II. (.'. Johnon of fiotton. The latter put the Kinsey to the wall by winning the first two sets, 6-3, 6-4, hammer ing out point after point to supple ment errors, and inrmciency of ter. vice largely by Howard Kinsey. The Pacific roatt titlnti fought to gain the third set, but the Davis-Johnson team fought equally hard. For 22 garnet the battle was waged, with never more than a single game ad vantage by either. Howard Kinsey found himself and with Robert work ing well, the brothers staved off de feat time after lime, gained the ad vantage, lost it, and started all over again. It was a brilliant battle, poind going by placement almost at often as by error, with honors fairly well distributed. In the end. the Kinieys broke down Davis' ser vice, which had sparkled, for the dc cieive game at 12:10. ' Stubborn Session. The fourth and fifth rts were stubborn sessions, marked asaiu hv placement from line or angle shots that kept seasoned player snectaton on the aui-vive. but the collaboration of the brothers, who have played ten nis together since they were knee high, their individual brilliancy and their stamina proved too much fm the team that, formed only yester day, had a short but brilliant career.
