The picture didn't be long in I hut term ut all. The cap tion thoukl have hern "When a Keller Needi a Krirud" ai leat, that I the way it struk mr, and here Here the reasons: Over on the h it i)e of the picture ' a small hoy vy lioltliiiK a handker chief to the note of hi smaller broth er, railing on hii to "blow I Blow harrll" .That little "feller needt a friend." If he doea a hi larger brother tella him he will blow infection into hit ears about every other cotd. In consequence he will go home and have earache that night. The next tep will be a choice between the following. Suppuration of the ran, discharging ears, mastoid ab scess. . Ultimately he may become deaf. For several years you have had a small boy blowing his nose. "Blow! Blow hardl" I suppose one rea son the boy you pictured is no larger than the boy you pictured follow ing this bad advice some five years ago is that about once a year the model develops a mastoid abscess and dies off and you have to get a new boy. I have sometimes thought that the geographical lines of the mouth, jaws and ears of your older boys was due to their having followed that "Blow hardl" advice when they were younger and tagging along. I notice it's the tagging-along-kid that you have "blowing hard!" But there'i another "Feller" in the picture that "needs a friend" and he needs one even worse. ' It is poof Homer, leaning against the tele graph pole, crying, "Now, you lem me "lone." Homer is plainly a low grade moron or a high grade imbecile. So did others. If he had a chance he might be happy and he might help to make others happy. That would be a very use ful way to spend one's life. Some low grade morons have done that. But, aside from that, Homer has some right to be happy. He has done nothing to earn unhappiness. A man's mind must be on a very low plane in fact, almost gone before he fails to know that he is being laughed at and to be made unhappy, and maybe bitter, thereby. Homer knew: "Lemme lone." Please. Mr. Briggs, Home'r "needs a friend." Danger In His Kiss. L. writes: "About six months ago my husband began having pains in the right lung. About a month ago he began having slight fever not every day, but two or three times a week. "He was given a blood test, and the doctor said he has a mild tuber culosis and that the upper right lung is slightly affected. "He won't go to the doctor any more. "He does office work, and walks to and from work, about a mile each way, every day. "1. Will our baby or myself be come infected if we kiss himf "2. Can he be cured.' "3. What foods shall I give him? Hansen, 662 Symmonds St., Kenosha, Wisconsin. A medicine that has been in use nearly fifty years and that receives the praise and commendation of mothers and grandmothers is worth your consideration. If you are suffering from troubles that sometimes follow child-birth bear in mind that Lydia E. Pink ham's Vegetable Compound is s wo man's medicine. It is especially adapted to correct such troubles. Toe letters we publish ought to convince you ; ask some of your women friends or neighbors they know its worth.
