Nebraska State Tennis Tournament Starts on University of Nebraska Courts
Nine Omahans
Among 65 Net
Players Entered

Lincoln. Aug. 7. The Nebraska
Mil tenuis tournament, held under
the auipice of the Nebraska Slate
Tennis atnoriation and the Univer
Mty of Nebraska, opened here today
with an entry list of more than 65
The tournament will be played on .'8
university courts, the largest layout
in the rentral vet.
Contrary to the first expectation
of the tournament maiUKcment,
.Ralph rowell, stale cluniiion in
tingle, and a resident of Omaha,
showed up with the Omaha aggrega
tion of nine entries and will play in
both singlei and double. In the lat
ter class he is paired with George
Stocking, a player of exceptional
ability.
At noon representation in the tour
nament, by cities, was as follows:

Tennis critics here believe that
Towell will have a struggle to retain
his title of singles champion, as he
has taken on considerable weight
since the last tournament and his

Wall Brothers Win
at "Barnyard Golf"
The Wall brothers. 'Frank and
Paul of Missouri Valley, la., who
specialize in hurling ringers at horse
shoe pitching tournaments, blew into
Omaha Sunday and won the lion's
share of honors -- at the weekly
"barnyard , golf" tournament held
Sunday at the Miller Park courts.
In class "A" of the singles. Frank
Wall won four out of five games,
ihalking up a total of 103 points,
seven more than Charles McLelland
of Omaha and Paul Wall of Missouri
Valley scored. '
By scoring 350 points and win
ning all of their seven games, the
Wall brother romped oft with the
doubles' honors. C. V. Paul and E.
H. Moravoc of Omaha tied for sec
end place, with six out of the seven

for extra bases. Williams knocked two
