Farmer Given Suspended
Term for Cruelty to Girl
Bucyru. Ohio, July 30. J. P.
Mngi, (armer, living near Crest
line, wat fined $100 and costs and
given a suspended sentence of six
months in jail on a charge of cruelty
to his daughter, Irene Mengej.
.The case attracted widespread at
tention when the Menges girl was
found by county authorities living in
an iron-sheeted smokehouse in the
rear of the Menges home. It was
charged that she was kept in the
house almost continuously witn in
sufficient light and vair.
