July 29, The contin ued and rapid decline of the German murk was again the event of out standing importance on the market. 1 tic slock exchange, whose atten tion was still absorbed in the labor situation, ended the week with a showing of strength which reflcclei Wall street's continued belief in the settlement of the strike. It ha been a somewhat peculiar fact in the situ ation that the stock market ha shown such absence of interest and concern in. this fall of the German currency valuation to unprecedent- edly low depths. Measured, in hun dredths of a cent, the marks low est price before the present year was 33; the 29 1 4 price of March was the low point until June, when it reached lo'f but'slins now fallen with accel erated rapidity to 15V. Paper Circulation Increases. It Is Imposaibl 10 measure such a movement on th basis f Intrinsic valu ations, for th reason that a paper cur rency Increased week by week on such a seal admit of no Intrinsic valuation. Th weekly Rrlchsbank statement of July S3, repeated th famllar siury. Pa per circulation had Increased 1,6ttl,000,OOO marks In a work, 11,607,000,000 In a munth.. and 12,984, 000.000, or 66 per cent sines the beginning of the year. The fell in th mark's gold value, which haa accompanied that Inflation, was as Inevitable as anything could b In an economic situation. In the light trading of a midsummer half holiday, such noteworthy advances as occurred were mostly In the industrial shares, but railway stocks also showed strength, a few ot them rising a point or more. Comparison of the week's closing prices with those of a week "10 shows the extent to which the market's attitude hns been rhanged by Its belief that th la bor difficulties will not be of long con tinuance. The bond market also shows a preponderance ot advancea for the week, although (as perhaps was natural) with considerably more irregularity In the Eu ropean securities. French exchange again declined along with the German mark, but Its low rat for the week Is still considerably above what was touched when the market was falling In the first week of January. Sterling exchange closed slightly above Its final rate or, any preceding week this month. Pur OH ! l ! Royal Outi'h 11 64 e Minclulr Oil 114 11 11 Hid. oil, N. J.,...l4 ! 1a ('a.
