Iowa Crops Damaged.
De Moines, la., July 11. Small
drain crops in sections of a number
nt Iowa counties were beaten down
by local winds which accompanied
the heavy downpour of rain over the
week-end, state reports received here
by Charles D. Reed, director of the
Iowa weather and crop service, said.
Mr. Reed states, however, that the
storm was more beneticial than
damaging as it relieved drouth con
ditions prevailing in several sections
of the state.
Xo reports have been received here
indicating that flood conditions pre
vail anywhere in Iowa.
