July wheat went to n premium of near
ly 2c over the Sepicnil-ir today, and closed
1,0 aliove. It la said that local interests
control the bulk of July contracts. North
western interests ivere good buyers of
July here. stocks nre to show another
big decrease, as ehlpments for the week
were 824,0'iD and receipts only 351.000
bushels. There is very little cash wheat
here that is unsold and not under orders
to go out,
Sontiment at the close was about as
biarlvh on (Trains as it ever gets. There
was evidence of leading Interests support
it. g all grains on the breaks, hut gen
erally the buying was poor, while east
ern interests were heavy sellers of Sep
tember and December wheat, nearly all the
big houses havir- oi-i-n.
Liquidation in the July and September
lard caused ono nf the worst breaks of
iiite. Provision specialists say domestic
consumption of l.ird is liberal. They ex
pert a decline in the hog receipts, as
usually about this period thev begin to
drop off. Whether the surplus lard
Ntock'ran be marketed at present or
higher prices Is the problem confronting
the tradi.

New York, July 8 In today'
stock market there wat a deposition
to give Krcater heed to the court of
event abroad, particularly in Ger

tievt developed price in all quarter
of the market were reactionary.
There wan a natural desire on the
part of prolcxsional trader to even
up commitments over the week-end
in the belief that a political rrisi as
well at an economic one might de
velop in Germany.
There wat no urgent telliiiR. but
quiet pressure was exerted from the
Hart of trading and few ttockt were
able to clone the day with Kaiiu. The
railroad tale were slightly reaction
ary and some of the more speculative
industrial dipped down rather
sharply. So far a domestic new
wa concerned, the day was without
any disturbing factor.

And French francs dropping temporarily
tinder their close of (he preceding day.
The further decline In marks attracted
the greatest attention, since weakness in
the exchange rule waa accompanied by
disturbing news development to the ef

torium on the next r"paratlona payment.
The continued weakness In franca was
again linked up with Ihe Hernia n situa
tion, despite Ihe fii-t that undoubtedly the
greater portion of the- decline from the
year's high has been result not of doubt
over reparationa, but rather a product at
heavier Imports.-
One of the Interesting development had
to do with Ihe receipt of $2,600,000 for c.
