team went to Superior where they
crossed bats with the team there and
made them bite the dust on their own
diamond. The features of the game
was the batting of Oleason, Smith, El
more and Denton while Pizer, Denton,
Versaw and Smith pulled off three
double plays that made the fans go
wild. Superior comes here next Thurs
day to play the rub game

Peter A. Hansen
Peter A. Hansen, who had been in
poor health for several years, passed
away 1'Ylday at the home of his son, P.
A. Hansen, lie-was born In Doumarlc,
Sejjtpmber 17, 13U and was aged 78
years, S mouths, and 23 days.
Mr. Unusen came to America seeking
a laud of lnrger opportunity 1 his
youth. On December 13, tST.'l, at Clint
on, Iowa, the Rev. Carl Nelseti oxidat
ing, he united in martlage with Missj
Mary Jacobsen, also a native of Don-1
mark. To this union were born: one'
sou, P. J. of Red Cloud; and three
daughters Ceristlnc, Anna, and Sarah
The three daughters preceeded their
fatnerto the Great Iteyoud,
Mr. and Mrs. Hansen came to Red
Cloud many years ago where he engag.
ed in the Laundry business which has
grown with the town ills wife fell
asleep in 11)01 since which time he
made his home with bis son
Mr. Hansen attended the Danish
Lutheran church and was a member of
the Odd Fellow's Lbdge of Red Cloud.
The funeral services were held at the
Christian church of Red Cloud on
Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev.
C. G Nelson. The Odd Fellows were
out iu form and took charge of the
servico at the grave. The interment
belug made in the Red Cloud cemetery.

Answering the question: "What

More safe," the pupils of a Colorado
school submitted the following rules:
I will uot play in the street.
I will not ride a bicycle on the side
walk
I will not play in the railroad yard.
I will not jump on wagona or cars
1 will not run in front of street oars
or automobiles.
I will not hold an umbrella in front
of my face while crossiug the street.
1 will not cross the street in the
middle of the block.
1 will not stand in the street while
waiting for the street car.
I will look in all directions before
crossing a busy street.
I will wait for the policeman's sig
nal. I will help youuger ehildieii on the
highway.
I will keep to the right at all times.
Rach pupil pledged himself to prac
tice these safety rules until the tules
had become a habit and a part of their
every day lives.
