Vice President Piatt of the road sign committe stated that the signs would be put up as soon as the roads were in better condition. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Conover gave them a pleasant surprise the other evening A pleasant time is reported. John McUridu who has been working at Edgmont, Dakota, in the It. &, M. yards had the misfortune to have his hand badly smashed while coupling cars. Mr Mntkins who recently purchased tho McArthur meat market has traded the same to H. A. Sbinklc, and be has assumed charge of Mr. Sbiukle's second hand store. Both gentlemen have our best wishes for sucoess. The election was quite spirited, and the majorities did not range very high Tho gentlemen are all republicans except one, and that exception is the city treasurer. 18 YEARS AGO Our farmers are plowing and sowing wheat in different sections of our com munity. Said salary to be for the school year of nine months only any additional time put in by janitors during vacation to he under the instructions of the Buildings and Grounds committee. Considerable time was spent in dis cussing method. of pioviding more school facilities caused by the loss of the Junior High School building by recent fire. It seemed to be the opin ion of the Board that additional room must tlte provided hut it was deemed advisable to firt consult an architect regarding the advisibility of building on to the new High School building. Secretary was instructed to write Fisk & "McGinnes, Architects, of Iain coin and ask them to meet with the Board as soon as possible regarding this matter. The Buildings and Grounds commit tee were authorized to salvage all possible from recent fire and dispose of brick, etc., to tho best advantuge.
