convinced that l eduction should be
made by the elimination of a large
number of unnecessary offices, ic
storing the government and control to
the Constitutionally provided officers
of the State. Nebraska, under its
former plan of government was an
example of economic prosperity to
most of the other States, but aping
the Federal government, and fol
lowing the already iefDgnizc!d cor
rupt leadership if Illinois, has forced
upon the people a system, practically
limitless in the amount of money it
can spend, as evidenced by the mil
lions added tf the biennial Budget,
during the last four years.
Nothing but drastic measures can
be relied upon to correct the evil ef
fects of the Gx!c system, and no re
lief mav be expected from those who
foisted it upon the pccplc. The only
hope is found in a Party pledged to
its repeal, and Jugc Edson may be
relied on to further every effort
made to lostorc economic government
in the State.
