Wullbrandt Groceries and Queensware If it's worth printing at all it's worth printing well! Nothing gives a business concern a "Cheap John" appearance as quickly as the use of poorly done printing. A concern is judged by the appearance of their place of business and by the class of correspondence and the kind of advertising matter used. Since the success of any business institution depends upon the impression made upon the public the necessity of using only the very best printing is obvious. It costs as much to do a job poorly as to do it right We are prepared to handle high grade commercial printing of all kinds and enjoy doing work for those who are particular about their printing and want it right. With these three elements at their best tho schools can do splendid work. This year the students have done very good work generally, duo large ly to the directors choosing tho teach ers with care. MINNIE CHRISTIAN. The defeat of the Old Guard in Pennsylvania, following the defeat of the Old Guard in Indiana, helps to conform the fact that the Old Guard organization is ibreaking up in the states under the weight of the Old GuE.nl administration at Washington. Alter was defeated for the nomina tion for governor of Pennsylvania be cause he represents the same element in the party and stands for the same policies that Harding stands for in the nation. Altcr's defeat is & fur ther confirmation of the fact known to most political observers' that the people at large have had all they will stand of reactionism, inefficiency, in competency and alliance with special privileges which is so flagrant and no torious that even on Old Guard stand pat Republican state like Pennsyl vania will not longer endure it. The vote for Gifford Pinchot, as in the case of Beveridgo of Indiana, was not a vote for any affirmative set of policies, but a vote of protest against the Republican national ad ministration, and, incidentally a pro test against tho Harrisburg Contrac tor's ring in Pennsylvania. The Pinchot vote docs not mean that all the men nnd women who voted for Mr. Pinchot in tho primaries are go ing to vote for him at tho polls. Thousands of them voted for him because they had no other means nt this time of registering their protest against economic conditions brought on by the befuddled national admin istration. This element will be found behind tho candidacy of John A. Mc Sparren, the genuinely progressive Democratic nominee for Governor, when they cast their votes in Novem ber. They realize that Mr. Pinchot can only be elected by the support of tho Old Guard, and that his election, brought aibout in such a way, would simply mean that he would bo power less to carry out most of the progres sive policies that he may have. Thoy realize also that John A. McSparren would be free from any such alliances and entanglements, and would owe his election only to the progressive citizenship of Pennsylvania, without regard of party. There is no hope that the Repub lican party of Pennsylvania as a whole ever will or can become a progressive party. If Pennsylvania is to take her place in the list of progressive states, it must be under a Democratic state admistration. The net result of tho Pcnnslvnnia primaries is a repudiation of and a warning to a reactionary clement now in control of tho Republican party. It is noticed thnt tho days of" blunder ing, four-flushing normnlcy are at an end, and that the grip of tho reaction aries upon thoir party organization is broken. It is fair warning o tho reactionaries also that tho worst is yet to come, UNDER CANVAS ONE WEEK STARTING MONDAY, MAY 29th The Mayme Arington Associate Players BAND AND ORCHESTRA Vaudeville between the acts Change of program nightly OPENING PLAY "The Girl in The Case'' LADIES FREE MONDAY NIGHT Each lady accompanied by one paid adult ticket will be admitted FREE Monday night only.
