The senior class play, a college
comedy entitled, "Professor Pepp" was
presented last night by the class of
1022, to a full house. Additional Beats
were added to the Auditorium to ac
comodate the largo number who at
tended. Eugene Hush as the college professor
was good, he looked and acted the part
to perfection. Howard Frisbie played
the roll of Mr. Duttonbustcr in a man
ner that was splendid. The easy, uu
tural way he handled this part of an
old man who being faclnated with the
ladies entered college as a Freshman
was very amusing. Howard Green,
his son who had changed his name was
very creditably impersonated by Eu
gene White. Marlon Steward as the
msn policeman, aim Hatty was &A
scream, he kept tho house in a continu
ous uproar while on the stage. Miss
Helen McCall as the beautiful Hetty
Gardner, the center of attraction in the
plot presented n wonderful appearance
and made a distinct hit with the audi
ence. Frances Patten, in the part of
Petunia Muggens, and Ruth Frye us
Aunt Minerva created a lot of amuse
ment. The other characters, Peddler
Benson represented by John Ncuor
berg, Noisy Fleming by Joe Moller
Pink Hatcher played by Fred Gordon,
Buster Brown, by Wilbur Topham,
Olga Stopskl by Naomi Corner, Kitty
Clover by Irma Mitchell, Vivian Drew
by Virginia Caldwell, Irene Van Hilt
by Pearl Newhouso and Caroline Kay,
impersonated by Faye Richardson
were all beyond criticism. Those who

Tho plan to make the Zinnia our
Community Flower this year is backed
by tho Women's Clubs of our city. In
many towns and cities a llowor has
been no chosen and planted by all. The
effect of masses of the same Mower on

The Zinnia has been uhuhen because
it grows from seed and so is inexpens

The Zinnia like other (lowers has
been improved. Seed for Colossal Zin

Small Boy Killed by Auto
Jtlluy Minniek; the ton year old son
of Mr and Mrs. Chas. Minniek, having
sustained a broken leg and arm and
other injuries in an unavoidable auto
mobile accident last Friday evening
passed away about two hours later, de
spite every effort of medical skill.
The boy in company witli his cousin,
Norman Sutton, the nine year old sou
of Mr. and Mrs, Chas. Sutton, was
coining up from the depot, walking on
the pavement. A oar came up from
behind them and to get out of the way
tli'i boys started from the street, the
Sutton lad going east while the Min
niek boy turned to tho west. Just as
thecal passed the boys, Isador John
son, who was taking Hugh Lawson, an
Interior decorator, down to the train
approached in his Bulck roadster. As
he turned out to meet the north bound
car tho Minniek lad appeared from be
hind it only about ten feot distant and
immediately in front of Mr. Johnson's
machine. He was not speeding, but to
change the course of the machine or
stop in so short a distance was im
possible and the unfortunate accident
resulted. Mr. Johnson immediately
brought the injured lad to Dr. Martin's
otllao where tho broken bones were set
in place but ho was unable t5 survive
the shock.
The coroner's Inquest was held Sat
urday afternoon and after investigat
ing every detail tho jury returned a
verdict of "an unavoidable accident
with no criminal responsibility on the
part of Mr. Johnson".
Funeral services in charge of Rev.
Marjorie Owens were held from the
Mission Monday afternoon and inter
ment made in the olty cemetery.
Universal sympathy is extended the
bereaved parents and Mr. Johnson wh
has been frantic with grief since the
accident. Those most intimate with
him know him as a cautious, conserva
tive man, never addicted to reckless
driving and the remorse he suffers
over the unfortunate affair can easily
be appreciated.
