AH ex-service men arc invited to
join the Legion, it is not a military
organization. Here are some of the
facts with regard to what the Legion
is doing for you. They maintain a
committee in each of the forty-eight
states that works tirelessly for the
passage of legislation that will bene
fit the ex-service men, particularly
the disabled. The Legion has In
duced Congress to, increase the base
pay of the disabled men from $30 to
$80 or more monthly. It maintains
a bureau which has assisted thousands
of veterans to obtain adjustment of
claims involving millions of dollars.
And last year's appropriation for
their assistance nnd dependants was
$158,000,000.00. The Legion is fight
ing for the Federal Ad lusted Com
pensation Bill which mep.ns a bonu.'
for you.
The only time tho Legion acts as r.
Military organization is on Decoration
Dny and in conducting funerals for
deceased comrades. Bv ioining you
