NEBRASKA, CHIEF
FAWJNE13 CHURCH REVIVAL
A succcssfL revival meeting held
at the Pawnee Union church, for four
days was brought to a termination
last Sunday evening. As usual tho
people of the vicinity, particularly
the young ladies, lost no time in hav
ing the sacred edifice in good order.
Artistic decorations were unique and
pleasing and reflected great credi'
for tho energy manifest on the oc
casion. nTIio people of tho vicinity
were greatly enthusiastic and turned
out in largo numbers to hear the
talented and illustrous lecturer nnd
noted theologian Rev. L. S. Terry, of
Wnunetn, Nebraska.
How Terry styles his church, as
"Christ's Church," speaking each suc
cessive evening from the various texts
of the Bible with great eloquence nnd
force of argument, illustrating every
point and each verse with much lu
cidity nnd held tho attention of the
entire congregation by his majestic
powers of speech. It was quite no
ticeable throughout the progress of
tho revival that many belonging to
other churches as well as a few who
did not belong to any church were
anxious to accede to his doctrine and
teachings and fall into lino with
"Christ's Church."
Tho church though largo and spa
cious was crowded every evening par
ticularly tho last day of tho revival,
a3 many admirers of Rev. Terry ar
rived from Hastings, Red Cloud and
Phillipslntrg, Kansas. Having com
pleted a long period of missionary
work Rev. Terry now retires to his
homo at Waunctta to tako a much
needed rest. Before leaving ho ex
horted and advised tho people to per
severe and do their utmost in follow
ing and practicing tho fundamental
truths taught by "Christ's Church,"
and consoled his brethren by announc
ing that "with God willing ho would
bo hack again in October." I wish
now to note that great credit is due
tho young ladies who compose tho
choir and a word of appreciation ex
tended those who entertained the
strangers with a sumptuous dinner.
