At a meeting of tho Clay county
board of directors held recently a
discussion on uniform for farm help
led to tho passing of tho following
resolution: "Be it resolved that tho
Clay county farm bureau recommend
to the state federation that it call a
meeting this spring for tho purpose
of agreeing upon uniform wages for
farm help in Nebraska." The opinion
seemed to bo that each county should
send ono man to tho meeting and
that such a meeting should bo called
twice a year ,to discuss and recom
mend uniformity of furm wages.
March 10 is tho day on which tho
farmers of tho state should notify
their county agricultural agents how
much corn they flr6 willing to give
to tho starving children of Europe,
China and tho Near East, according
to an announcement just made by H.
D. Lute, secretary of tho Nebraska
federation. Shipping instructions
will bo sent out soon, ho said. Ho
intimated that a good share of tho
transportation and handling charges
would bo donated in order to make
tho project a. truly gift affair. Carl
S. Vrooman, director of tho Gift
Corn project, has stated that tho
first shipment of com was fhado Feb.
22 and a steady flow from tho Uni
ted States to starving Europe and
other countries is expected for the
next few months.

Bureau Federation. A member of
the Committee of Seventeen appear
ed before the executive committee of
the A. F. B. F. shortly after the
plan was made public in Knnsas'rCity
and explained the details. The exe
cutive committee thereupon unani
mously voted to approve tho plan, and
directed the President and Secretary
to forward a message of congratula
tion to the Committee of Seventeen.

stitute of Agriculture at RomS, it.
was voted to invito each national as
sociation of foreign farmers to send
two delegates to tho next annual

rcau federation. Mr. Sconce will be
chairman of tho committee to wel
come tho delegates from foreign
countries.

Tho question of tho farm wage
scale for the coming year has been
one of the chief topics of conversa
tion in Madison county during the
past few weeks. James Robertson
said that two married men had offer
ed to work for 550 a month. Fred
Crowley of Meadow Grovo reported
that one man had agreed to work
for $30 a month and two wanted to
work for $35 a month, beginning
March 1.

Since the first of the year approxi
mately 15 per cent of the farm bu
reau pooled wool has been moved at
conservative values. Tho importa
tion of foreign wools has been a bear
ish factor and has prevented any
great activity in domestic wools. How
ever, 6,000,000 pounds have been
sold from the Ohio, Michigan, North
Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin,
Minnesota, South Dakota, Indiana and
Kansas wool pools. Tho prices aver
age about 40 per cent of tho prices
paid last year.
