Several big catfish have been taken
out of the river lately. Sunday af
ternoon Clyde Wolfe caught one that
wieghed twenty one pounds while on
Tuesday afternoon, Enos Reynolds
caught one that weighed fourteen
pounds.
Morton Smith, who was inA charge
of a gang of bridge. builders at Sar
gent, had thp mistfortuno to have two
of his fingers smashed by tho pile
driver. He arrived flome the last of
the week to visit his wife and have
his hand doctorojl.
Miss' Gertrude Coon who is Field
Secretary of the South Central Field
of the Y. W. C. A., stopped off in the
city this week fo.r a few days visit
with her parents, Mr and Mrs. John
Coon. She is enrouto to Estes Park
to attend 'a conference of Y. W. C.

Sec. 31. Every motor vehicle
while in use on public highways shall
be provided with good and sufficient
brakes and also with a suitable bell,
horn or other signnl and shall havo
exhibited during the period from ono
hour after sunset to one hour, heforo
sunrise offe or more lamp,1 showing
white lights visible within a reason
able distance from the direction which
such vehicle is proceeding, and a red
light visible from the reverse direction;
provided, further, it shall be unlawful
to use on a vehicle of any, kind oper
ated on the public highways of this
state any lighting device of over lour
candle nowcr equipped with a reflect
or, unless the same shall be so design
ed, deflected or arranged that no por
tion of the beam of reflected light,
when measured 75 feet from or more
ahead of the lamps, shall rise abovo
42 inches from tho level surface on
which the vehicle stands under nil
conditions of the load. Spot lights
shall not be used except when pro
jecting their rays directly on tho
ground and at a distance not exceed
ii g 30 feet in front of the vehicle.
Sec.' 32. Tho violation of any of
the provisions of thia nc't shall bo
deemed a misdemeanor punishable by
a fine not exceeding fifty dollars for
the first offense, and punishable by a
fine of not less than fifty dollars nor
more thnn one hundred dollars, or im
prisonment not exceeding sixty days
in the county jail for each subsequent
offense, or both fine nnd imprisonment
provided, however, if any person oper
ating a motor vehicle in violation of
thin act shall by so doing seriously
maim or disfigure any person, or causo
the death rf any-person or persons, ho
shall upon conviction thereof be fined
not loss than two hundror dollars nor
more than five hundred dollars, or be
imprisoned in the penitentiary for not
loss than ono year or more than ten
years.
Officers in every section of flio state

force tho above law and this commun
ity will prove no exception.
