no less than in years gone :by but us
to the governorship, he appears to
feel that if elected; it' would require
close application and the devotion of
his entire time, and Mr. Thompson does
not feel that he would like- to under
take such a task. Ever since 1806 fie
has been a close friend of Mr. Bryan
and a leader in the progressive clement
of his party.
In his own home community, Mr.
Thompson has always stood high in
the esteem of his fellowmcn and he
will have the best wishes in this cam
paign of all of his townsmen, regard
