J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Winston-Salem, N. C Mrs. J. L. Martin s Miss Bertha Luella Phillips, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Phillips was born in Red Cloud on November 11, 1881. She was mar ried to Mr. J. L. Martin on Novem ber 4, 100. To this union was born five children three boys and two girls. The boys arc Phillip, Edgar and Archie and the girls are Gcr- j trade and Allctha. She has two brothers and three sisters and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Martin died on July 10, at 2 p. m. at the home of her sister, Mrs. Minerva Sine at Goodland, Kansas, after a brief illness of only thirty six hours. She had the Influenza last February from which she had never fully recovered.
