Methodist Church Notes
WIIAl lb Till: CKXTUKART MOVHMENl?
It is commemorative of the one
hundredth anniversary of Methodist
Missions. It is U oil's trumpet call to
Methodism to faco the world's greatest
crisis. It is a call to repent. The
Church has been praying "Thy King
dom come on earth" but has not
fcninlstered to hungry millions in for;
elgn fiolds and nearer home.
So world-wide emergencies crowd
upon us demanding vast expenditures
of wealth uud largo enlistment of the
youth of Metuodlbin. Adding to the
seriousness of the situation comes the
general warning to the Church for
"preparedness" for tho great "after
war." Tho church of Christ is soon to
be tested as never before.
The uecd of the hour is a revived
and mightily spiritualized Church.
Tho Centenary Movement, in God's
providence, was raised up by the
General Conference not primarily to
supply millions of money, but to lift
Methodism to a new plane of spiritual
vision aud ministry from which It
shall accomplish Its part of the Chris
tian Conquest of tho World.
Tho pastor has boeu presenting this
subject to the people for the past
month aud will be ably assisted on
March Oth by Dr. Sherman Powell of
Indiana, Mr. Raymond Woodrum of
York. Dr. CM. McCorkle and Dr. J.
W. Embroe. We expect to make this
day a great day for Red Cloud.
Joun D. HAMMferj, Pastor.

The special meetings, were, for var
ious reasons, brought to a olose Sun
day evening. While the nnmbor of ad
ditions were not as many as we could
have hoped, the meetings closed with
a splendid fraternal feeling, not only
among our own members but also
among tho many members of other
churches, who joined with us most
hoartily iu helping to raalto the meot-

words of appreciation for the straight
