HE world war, as far as you are concerned, is a battle between
the two eagles; the one an emblem of Prussia, the other of America.
The one eagle stands for the Kaiser with all the degradation and
self-aggrandizement he upholds; the other is the Emblem of Freedom,
surmounting the pinnacle of the American flag, the eagle that stands
out on the face of the American dollar, the eagle that the Liberty-loving
peoples of the earth are looking to for deliverance today.
In this tattle the American eagle will triumph the eagle that surmounts Old Glory.
But you must do your part with the American dollar in order to make this triumph complete
and hasten the hour of victory. The American dollar must purchase supplies for the Army
and Navy, provide food, clothing, shelter, ammunition, ships, airplanes, guns, tanks, trucks and
all the paraphernalia necessary to successful warfare. These are the necessities of our nation.
Your co-operation is essential to American success.
It will cost more to lose this war than to win it. Give the American Eagle on the Ameri
can dollar a fighting chance against its enemy on the helmet of the Hun.
Volunteer your money. Lend it to Uncle Sam that it may be, enlisted with the other
wealth of the nation and come back to you with interest when our victorious boys return
the boys who will compare your war record with theirs.
