aro assisted by tho information which

munity have
"Every registrant, his wife and
friends, who has an honost claim for
deforrcd classification, bhould under
stand that only Class V is an exempt
division; that nil other classes aro
subject to call for scrvlco; and that
overy man fraudulently put into Class
IV Increases tho liability for Borvico

though his ordor number bo beyond
that of tho man Improperly placed.

I. Introduction. Jesuscould testify

II. An Impelling Need (vv. 0:4) J

as ho himself was concerned, ho was

however, 'had friends, very enterpris
ing ones. And so putting him upon th
doublo quilt or coverlet, which could hi
rolled together In a bundlo of moderate
size, they carried him Into tho pres
ence of tho master.
III. Jesus Forgives and Defends Hli
Rights (vv. 5:12). Tho crowd was so
great about tho houso thnt "they could
not como nigh unto htm for tho press."
They were not, however, discouraged
but leaving tho crowd, they went up
tho usual outsldo stairs, bearing the
sick man with them unto tho roof
which "they uncovered" literally they
dug through tho flat roof made of
brandies and twigs and covered with
earth, and which could bo as easily re
paired. Travelers In eastern countries

ed even in this day. They then let
down the bed or mattress by tho four
corners. The roof was so low that

In front of Jesus. Jesus commends
"their deed" as Indicated In all threo

ical obstacles had to be overcome, but

It right, was It honest to break through
tho roof of a man's house? Would
they mako It good? Wns tho owner
glad to havo had It dono? Jesus did
not hesltato or speculate over such
questions, but goes at onco to tho lssuo
and Bald to tho man sick of tho palsy,
"Son, bo of good cheer, thy sins bo
(nre) forgiven thee." Seo Matthew's
and Mark's account. "Son," Is a word
of endearment; tho word "bo" Is not
as strong in the old form as tho word

senso of unforglvcn sin. Forgiveness
Is not of' tho judgo who sentences "not
guilty," but a father who welcomes
