It is sincerely hoped by all connect"
ed with tho school and by the citizens
of Red Cloud that the eighth grade
graduates in the territory belonging
to Red Cloud will all be with us this
year, as wo anticipate that the arrange
ment of the junior high school will be
very much to their liking aud needs.
We arc anticipating a very large en
rollment of non-resident pupils iu ad
dition to tho eighth grade graduates
ns with our new building we shall bo
able to amply accomodate all who
come. We shall be more than plcnsed
to see all our young people in school,
even though they may have beeu oblig
ed to stay out of school for one or
more years. The high school schedule
offers courses In agriculture with
laboratory studies, normal training
with practice teaching, commercial
subjects including shorthand und typo
writing and college entrance subjects.
So even though a young lady or
gentleman may have been-out of school
for considerable time, our school will
olTer them work well suited to their
needs

Reef Cattle
Choice natives sold steady, top SIS,
weighty grass cattle 10 to 20 higher,
with a good demand for fleshy feeders,
who outbid packers on several lots aud
got them at 812.85 to S13.S5, packers
paying up to 813.20 for others. Light
weight grass cattle sold IS to 25 higher,
medium weight Kansas and Oklahoma
steers at SO to $10.50, light Oklahonm
steers at 80.75 to 88.75, some at tho lat
ter price considered 25 higher. Cows
and heifers remained dull till theclose
last week, but are soiling better today,
Ht S0.C0 to 810 for cowb, choice fed
heifers quotable up to S13, veal calves
S12.G0. Kansas aud Oklahoma owners
ate holding cattle back, as grass is as
good now as it ordinarily is iu May.
Stockers and Feeders
liuyers were in larger attendance
last week, and cleared up the yards
close. Good fall pastures are stimu
lating trade in stock cattle, and gdod
corn prospects are inducing the pur
chase of focding steers. Stock steers
sell mainly at 87.25 to ,8.50, feeding
steers 88 to $10, fleshy feeders upwards
to S13.25 today, stock cows and heifers
eG.25 to 18.
Hogs
Tho top prico today. 217.80, was paid
for hogs weighing 240 lbs., other
medium weight hogs at 817.75, and
choice heavy hogs worth as much,
though none were here today. Rest
lights sold at $17.25, and bulk of sales
was at 810.50 to 817.50. Receipts nro
so light that very littlo attention is
paid to outbldo markets, top here to
cuntly frequently being a quarter
abovo top iu Chicago, including today,
and far abovo other river marketb.
Tho hog market is iu an uncertain
position, and buyeis at shipping points
arc having to do some tall guessing to
come' o'ut even. However, most of the
foam was removed last week, and moro
stable markets are looked for this
week, with strength dominating the
bituatlon.
