The Secretary was instructed to draw warrant for 84000 in favor of J. V. Sohleslgor us pait payment on contract price of new school building; also to receive bids for three car-loads of Maitlnnd coal (approximately ISO tons) to be delivered at the Lincoln ami Washington schools. Motion made by Weesnot and second, ed by Herriclc that San ford Fox bo re elected Janitor of the Lincoln school at a salary of S.r per month for the school year only. Motion carried. On motion the Board agreed to allow the Chautauqua Association the use of the Lincoln school grounds for S25. Upon report of Supt Whitehead re porting n balance of S37.30 due the School District from proceeds of the graduation exercises, this amount was ordered transferred to the High School VictrolH fund. Motion made and carried that all kuition fees for the coming year must be paid in advance except where out side sohool districts were ' responsible for such fees. On motion the Superin tendent was instructed to require a deposit fee equivalent to the price of books, for all books takon out of the school library The Secretary was instructed by the Hoard to collect delinquent tuition foes of 810.50 from J. S. Muxon of Franklin county and authorized him to make such expense ns he deemed necessary in making such collection. After allowing a number of claims the board adjourned to moot the first Monday in July. Siegel-Fox Nuptials At the home of Mr. and Mrs. H C. Klrkbrldo, at six o'clock Wednesday forenoon, occured the marriage of Miss Edytlio Siegel to Vale Fox, Tho Rev, McDonald olliclatiug. The bride has grown to womanhood in this vicinity, where she has a host of friends. The groom at one time was a clerk in a store in this city. A chorus of some sixty voices, uuder the leadership of Mr. Olon Walker will render appropriate vocal soleotlous- When it comes to music, well, there'll be an Hbundauce of that as two of the lending bands of this section will bo on hand the Lebanon Military Band and the Red Cloud Concert Hand. Both of these musical organizations have favored us with samples of their pro ductions and there Is not a doubt but that we will be favored with many up-to-the mluuto selections. The committee hi charge Is sparing neither time nor expense to give you the very best in the way of music, speakers and amusements and you should do your share by being present on that day, and arrangements as yet have not been completed for several other attractions and their announce ments will be made soon. 2000 Will Teach Canning About '.2,000 Nebraska folks have en tolled in cunning schools to be con ducted by the Agricultural Extension Service of the University of Nebraska in !12 towns and cities of the State dur ing the month of June. Every person enrolled has pledged himself to teacli others how to can. However, tho these volunteers- will be utilized to tench canning locally tills summer, the University will con tinue canning instruction thruout tho season Beginning the first of July, canning demons tiutors fiom the Uni versity will be sent out on "runs" over all paits of tho State, each expert being routed to give demonstrations at a series of points. Towns may send lequests for such demonstrations to tho Extension Shi vice, Univeisity Farm, Lincoln, beforo Junc22.
