ians show that a large per cent of the
losses of cattle in stalk fields is evi
dently caused by hemorrhagio septic
aemia, says the veterinary department
of the college of agriculture. It is al
so believed that some of the losses
among sheep arc from the samo cause

The funeral scrvhes of the late Pat
rick Kounody were conducted from tho
Catholic church onl'iiesday morning,
of this week, at lo o'clock, Rev. Father
Fitzgerald officiating.
The deceased was renred on u farm
near Inavale, and was about 2,1 years
of age. He was a soldlor in the U. S.
army in tho Phllipines. Ho was drown
ed while bathing in the bay, during
the latter part of October
He loaves, to mourn his demise, his
mother, one sister, Miss Helen Ken
nedy, six brothers, Tom of this city,
Will of Cozad, John of Omaha, James
of Salt Lake City, Utah, Stovo and
Mike of Inavale,
