MVfiHi rado beef steers, yuu to iuuu ius, at. !j.r0 to $7.75, some caked Panhandle' steers $3.'25. Local packers are ship ping cows and canners to their plant3 here from St. Louis and St. Paul, be cause of scarcity here. She stuff is fully steady today, canners $4.-10, to $o, Panhandle grass cows .$0.75 to $(5.50, olorado cows $(5.00 to $7.00, fed cows up to $7.50. i STOCKBRS AND FEEDERS Packers bought fleshy feeders at a premium last week. They divided a five car shipment of good Kansas short fed steers with an Illinois feed er buyer, each lot selling at $8.85 Thin feeders and stock cattle sold 15 to 25 lower for the week. Ten cars of Panhandle yearlings sold today at $7.30, same cattle $7.40 last Monday. Other Panhandles sold at $7 to $7.25 and -choice bred Colorado two year olds $7.75. Medium stockers and feed ers bring $0.25 to $7, common stock $5 to $0. HOGS Hogs advanced 40 to 50 cents first of last week, but lost a small part of it at the finish. The market opened steady today, with 11,000 head here, but good demnnd from order buyers soon advanced prices 10 cents, top $10, medium weights up to $9.05, and lights $9.90. Tho market hns a strong foundation, and there is not much ex cuse for lower prices at this time. Av erage weights are light, indicating that irood nriccs and feed scarcity arc influencing too manv shippers to mar ket prematurely. Most of the hogs coming could be fed GO days longer profitably. SHEEP AND LAMBS. Receipts of 5500 contained only a few good to choice lambs or sheep. Light receipts here enable sellers to secure strong prices regardless of the lower reports elsewhere. Market here was steady to higher today, while Chicago reported a decline of 10 to 15 cents. Hi"t lambs here sold at $11.(50 to $11.75 and fat ewes sold at $7.50. A feature last weeK was prime Kan.sa3 fed western lambs weighing "1 pounds at $11.75, top for the week. Pending lamls art scarce, at $9.50 to f'0 25. J. A. RICKART Market Cprresponde" Notice o?
