Owing to the number of friend of
A. V. Ducker writing his name on the
Democratic primary ballot for County
Treasurer (no regular candidate having
filed for this olllee), thin popular citi
zen has decided to throw his hat into
JiVthtfifliiK with the other aspirants and
annoikities that he will bo pleased to
, receive 'Ho .voles of his ninny friends
'nt the regular election. Mr. Ducker
needs no Introduction to the votcts,
as ho is wqlVMtnown nnd Is n highly
respocledcltlzeti and competent to as
sume the 'duties of that olllcu, should
ho be successful in the raco. He was
also endorsed by tuo County Central
Committee.
Among thu names that appear on
the Democratic ticket, is that of Keith
Neville, candidate for Governor. Ho
is a resident of North Platte and is
one of tlio successful business men of
that thriving llttfb city, and lias al
ways been a loyal democrat and a
booster for Ills town, state and party
and deserves the support of everyone
who professes to be a loyal democrat.
lie is not only u favorite amoug the
men of his own party, but is also high
ly spoken of by his political oppo
nents. The North Platte Tribune, a
staunch republican paper that bos
weathered the storms of adversity,
and also received their share of pros
perity, for the last thirty-five years
was one of the first to express his
candidacy and devoted considerable
jupace in their paper to express their
opinion of Mr. Neville as n favorable
caudldato for this otllce. He is well
bpoken J of by the ministers of
the; gospel and, the laymen alike,
and no one seems to be able to find a
spot or blemish in his character. He
is a strong advocator of better roads,
better government, in fact, is willing
to lend a hand to help in any worthy
cause, if you have never had the
pleasure to know this man, or know
ing of him, now is the opportune time
to become better acquainted with. An

Proclamation
Tue.s'ay, May 30th., is 'the day set
aside by nation and state, to decorate
the graves of the deceased soldiers ot
the Rebellion. During the past year
many comrades have passed away, and
are now located in the teutless camps,
never to answer the bugle cbII on
earth. The scarcity of those who took
part in the defense of our country
should remind the young that their
time is passing jubt as rapidly.
All loyal citizens should observe this
day, therefor I, llobt. Drttnerell, Mayor
of thu city of lted Cloud, respectfully
request that business in the city be
suspended, that bu-dness men attend,
and tukt putt in Hie xxeivKe-, and
that all loyal citizens, by their pies
enee, show their respect and gratitude
for hervices rendered by the soldieis of
1801. llobt. Oamerell, Mayor.
