have a basket supper Friday evening

Mr. James Peterson has opened up
an exclusively implement house. Uoods
arc arriving dally and ho will soon have
one of the largest stocks of implements
in this section of the state. Mr. Peter
son is an experienced man in the im
plement business and he will handle
everything from a cultivator to a
threshing machine.

The executive board of the Chamber
of Commerce held its regular meeting
Tuesday evening. The usual routine
business was trnnsaetei alter which
tho Secretary stated that the lease ou
the rooms had expired and the House
Committee was instructed to secure a
new lease for ono year with the privi
lege of three years. As Secretery F.
W. Cowdcn will be unable to attend
the meeting at Hastings next week the
"Vice President, Geo. W. Hutchison,
was elected u delegate to attend the
meeting. The Secretary and l'rcsi
dent were instructed to invite the Re
publican Valley Editorial Association
to hold it's summer meeting here.

The game was called nt 3:30, with
Paul Kidd as Referee. The ganio was
a good one from start to finish and a
great amount of interest was taken in
the local boys who fought bard to tho
last minute. The Franklin Scouts won
the game by a score 32 to i.
