Funeral services for tho late Adam
Morhart was held Friday morning lit
his home in this city, Rev. J. L. Beebo
officiating. Out of respect to the de
ceased tho business houses of tho city
were closed during the services. Inter
ment took place in the city cemetery.
A tire alarm wus turned in about
15 Tuesday evening, to which the
fire boys responded promptly. The
scene of the blaze proved to be the
Nelson residence, east of the ceme
tery, in the first ward, but was ex
tinguished before doing much damage,
in fact, even before the fire boys
reached there, notwithstanding a
record run was made with the hose
cart, ably assisted by Paul Francis
and his "Tin Lizzie."

Mrs. Edward Correll
Mrs. Edward Correll, a former resi
dent of this city, but who together
with her family moved to Akron, Colo
rado, a few years ago, passoil away at
that place on November 2oth.
She was born in Pella, Iowa, Octo
ber 12, 1891) and wa married to Ed
ward Correll at Lennox, South Dakota

with their father are left to mourn the
loss of a beloved mother and wife. She
also leaves a father, brother and Ave
sisters. Mrs, Correll i was a kind
mother, o faithful wife and a gener
ous friend. For twenty years she had
been a member of the Baptist church
and died in that fnlth. ,
The remains were brought to this
city on Tuesday -morning, funeral

Baptist church that afternoon, by J,
L. Biebc, Interment was undo In
the city cemetery.

County, Iowa, December 8th, 1801, and
died Sunday night at Bird City, Kan
sas, lie was an old pioneor of Nebras
ka having come here in 1872. The re.
mains were (nought to this city Tues
day morning. Funeral services were
hold at I'M Am uelt 's undertaking par
lors Wednesday' morning, J. L. Beebe
conducting the services. Burial took
plHco iu the Salem cemetery. One
son, Floyd, Is left to mourn his death.

The Oxford Team
Plays Slow Game
Last Friday afternoon the Ited Cloud
High school team played Oxford High
school team here at foot ball before a
large crowd and defeated them by a
score of 01 to 0.
Oxford was completely outclassed
and never appeared dangerous only
having possession of the ball three
times during the game. The locals
played with snap and vim seldom dis
played in other games, each man play
ing a stellar part. Long runs were
made by liaker, who run 40 yards ,on
an end run, Overleese, who ran SO yards
when returning the ball on nn Oxford
punt.
Red Cloud scored two touchdowns in
the first four minutes of play. One
touchdown was scored by Wilson,
Kldd, Polnicky, and three each by,
