More than twenty years of the time in tills city wus spent in the mercantile and shoe busiues. He was a pioneer citizen and did much to make lied Cloud and community the pride of the country. He was sober, industrious und honest in his lelations and busi ness life with thu public. lie was a member of tho Lutheran church in (ermany and uevor changed hischurch relations in America.
