Miss Coon In The Lead Wednesday waa Bargain Day for votes in The Chief aotoraotyle contest. Onhatone day w Issued Honple the regular number of votes 'on till sub scription money received. Contest ants, and their friends, had been work ing ever sine the bargain -day waa announced, to secure subscriptions to turn in for the doubls count, and the result was some big reports were made. A" glance at the standing of the contestants this week will reveal some great changes. Miss Coon takes the lead this, week for the first time. SJie Is not so far in the lend, however, but what she can easily be overtaken by any of the con testnnts. Miss Cttrtwright holds second place and is less tlmii ten thousand votes behind the leader. Mih. Matkins made the largest gain of any of the cohtestants, jumping from .10,0no which sho had to her credit last week, to lr.8,000 this week. Miss Uayes also made a good report and holds third place. Had she turned in two more five year subscriptions for both papers on bargain day she would have been in the lead by a good majority. The race now has the appearance of a real contest as contestants and thslr friends seem more Interested, and doing better work, than, ever before. We predict that some good worty will be done between now and the wind up. One thing we are sure of, and that is that nocontestant wants to feel that she slie has the automobile cinch ed at this time. It is going to take more votes to wind than anyone has at tho present date, therefore they do not want to feel ooHdent that they have things their own way and sit down to rest, for if they do someono will get ahead and win the automobile, The next big day will be the duy the prizes ore awarded. That will be tho contest closing date, Saturday, June 14atG p. m. From now uutil that time the contest will move on and the votes will be counted according to tho regular voting schedule, When thn closing hour arrives everything will stop and the votes will be counted by n set of disinterested judges and the contestant having the largest number to her credit will be awarded tho Ford Touring Car; the second highest the Diamond Ring and tho third tho Gold Watch.
