aside the week of March 31st to April 1st., to familiar
ize the Consumer with the wholesomeness, the ex
cellence and the economy of Canned Food.
They have sent out for distribution a small leaf
let, entitled "How to live well without going broke or
pawning the family Diamonds". One of these will
" be sent you with your next grocery order.
During this week we will make special prices on

Red Cloud Aids
Omaha Sufferers
A band concert was given in the
opera house by the Red Cloud Concert
Band, under the leadership of Prof.
Hetz, on Monday evening, the proceeds
being turned over to the unfortunate
Omaha tornado sufferers. Some of the
ouslness men devised this method of
raising funds on Saturday, and bills
and tickets were printed. The tickets
were placed on sale at all of the busi?
ness bouses and sold at 25 cents a
piece. There were 482 tickets sold
which netted 1120.50. To this a
mount was added 939.05, which was
received from cosh donations, making
a total of f 159.55. Out of this was
paid the expenses, a matter of only
17.60, which left the neat sum of 9152.
05 to send to the unfortunate ones of
Omaha.
It was good to see our citizens re
spond to the call for aid and to Father
Fitzgerald, F. V. Cowden and others,
considerable credit is due for devot
ing no small amount of time to the dis
tributing of the tickets, collecting the
money, etc. Even though Red Cloud's
donation may be a little, and perhaps,
also, it may not be quite so large as
someotber towtiN of Its size, it will
at least show Omaha Rod Cloud is on
tho map and is luhabitcd by people
with real blood in their veins.
Mayor Turnure also appointed Ales-
dames J. II. Bailey and J. G. Potter as
a committee to collect clothing, bed
ding, etc., and tho citizens gave liber
ally along these lines.
