Department of Agricultural Statistics
and Publicity in the office of the State
Board of Agriculture and appropriat
ing 180,000 for the bienniura for this
purpose. Nebraska is about the only
state In the west which is without a
considerable appropriation for this
purpose and muoh complaint baa been
made by citizens of the state that it is
not sufficiently represented iu this
particular. The State Board of Agri
culture has been conducting a depart
ment of this nature temporarily for ex
perimental purposes in order to deter
mine its value, paying the expenses
from a portion of its earnings derived
from the management of the State
Fair. The state treasury has not been
called on for special appropriation for
this purpose. This service has been
widely used by the state Dress for the
