After the pipe-line is once installed the Iturliiitfton'.s reser voir would be supplied by a torrent of the purest water to be had by gravity fall and without further expense. While the new local water system is belnj,' so seriously contemplated by the Iturllngton people, and their freight i-ysteni is to bo so revolution Izud us to malm this their main line hi Nebraska, and Red Cloud is about to los.e not only so great a water customer and consumer, but also lose forever all possibility of so valuable a public asset as tho uninterrupted How of pure cool, crystal, sprin water through its mains, there yet remains possible op portunity for much good to come from snub heavy loses. While tho Hurling ton is negotiating for its water fran chise through the City, the City can negotiate with the lliirlinuton to ex tend a 'Y' or spurs uptown ami re establish their passenger depot, freight and express houses and offices in the neighborhood of the old creamery. Perhaps the Railroad Yards could re main much as they are now, and it would be no great hardship upon tho Company to thus accommodate a pa tron so valuable as Red Cloud. If a deal with the lmrlington people to extend spurs and remove their depots and ofilces uptown cannot bo cousumatcd now the future will olTer still loss encouragement. At this time Red Cloud promises to become a Rail road center of importance, because of tho now privato water system which the Burlington proposo to Install, in which case all proporty values will materially enhance, and tho cost to the Company for such changes proportion ately increase. In any event tho Unr- lington people could be persuaded toCm'lhtia" C" " U,,h,; Congregational st'o and supply tho lose serious noeds of Red Cloud at this time far easier than ten or fifteen years bonce. Now is the time for Red Cloud to awaken not only to her deplorable losses to hor water system and patrons and also tho goodndvcrtisingintluenco of a public 'arterial system' of pure, crystal spring water, but to hor possi ble opportunity if not necessity nf negotiating these changes with tho Uurlington people in tho Interests of our public wellfarej I Trace Your Past and Future Prof. Pfulil, Astrologer Phremolog lst, at the Royal Hotel, writes a chart of your life, what occupation you aro best adapted for, what state to live in for success In business and health, whom to marry, your lucky years In life by the star of your birth. Rumors of this diameter hurt a town and community in that it stirs up ill feeling and drives away capital and would-be citizens. Wo cannot build up our town by running down our schools. If there Is unyone thing which wc are justly proud of it is our excellent system of schools and to slander that, system in an argument foi or imuiii-t u wet or dry policy of eitj government is debauchery of the worst hind. You can be wet if you want to or you can tie dry if you want to but. please toll the truth iibout our school.
