of the service nnd gave a memorial in
honor of John B Slemnn the origina
tor of tho Layman's Missionary Move
ment. Tho unthems, ducts and solos
by tho choir were exceptionally well
rendered aud appropriate to the oc
oassion. A brief review was given of
his life by E. J. Overing Jr. The
Brotherhood was the topic assigned to
J. S. Gilliam and in his address he em
phasised the nearness of men outside
of the church and those Inside tho
doors on all moral questions. Mr
Cressman. spoke on tho Laymen's Mis
sionary Movement aud showed how
this movement had renewed the life In
hundreds of churches lu this country
by men going to work.
